October– Hay rides, Pumpkins, and Halloween!

October!  A great month!  Starts out great with my husband’s birthday on the 1st. and then my mom’s on the 19th.  Both Libra’s, good thing since one of their greatest compatibilities is with Aries, me. What zodiac sign is your greatest compatibility? Go here to find out!

The first signs of autumn start in October. Leaves changing color, before they fall all over the ground.  Time to get the garden cleaned out and ready for next spring. Close the swimming pool. To be quite honest, it makes me sad, because I am a summer girl, and I hate the chill that comes to the air.

But, then comes Halloween and I love seeing all of the kids in their costumes. And I especially love seeing my grandkids in their costumes! When my kids were small, I used to make their costumes every year. I loved making them and then seeing the kids enjoy them.  In the hope that someday my grandchildren would use them, I saved all of them but that has just happened a couple of times.

I do love it that October precedes the beginning of the holiday seasons because I love Thanksgiving and Christmas! And this year since I retired,  I will have the time to really enjoy the holiday seasons! One of the best things about fall is everything pumpkin!  Jack-o-lanterns!  Pumpkin Bread, Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Spice Drinks!
